Edgefield's Electrician for Historic Charm & Modern Power

Edgefield was Nashville's first suburb and became the city's first National Register historic district in 1978. Its Victorian, Italianate, and Queen Anne homes were mostly wired decades after they were built, then re-wired again as the neighborhood was rediscovered starting in the 1970s and 80s. The result is a wide mix of knob-and-tube, mid-century additions, and modern updates, often all in the same house.

We work regularly in Edgefield on panel upgrades, knob-and-tube replacement, and full historic rewires, and we're familiar with the Metro Historic Preservation Zoning requirements that apply to visible exterior work in the district.

Edgefield Electrician FAQs

Common questions from Edgefield homeowners.

Will exterior electrical work require Metro Historic Zoning Commission approval?
Visible changes — meter relocations, new exterior conduit, EV charger pedestals — may require review in Edgefield's historic overlay. Interior rewiring almost never does. We'll flag it upfront if your project needs it.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. We provide free, no-obligation estimates for most residential electrical work. Submit the form above and we'll follow up soon.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. East Nashville Electrician is fully licensed and bonded in the state of Tennessee. We pull permits and schedule inspections as required by Metro Nashville.
Do I need a permit for a panel upgrade?
Yes, Metro Nashville requires permits for panel upgrades and most rewiring work. We pull permits and schedule inspections as part of every job.
Can you install an EV charger on an older panel?
Sometimes. A load calculation determines if your existing service can handle a Level 2 charger. Many older East Nashville homes need a panel upgrade first.
